May 28, 2024

CWPA is delighted to announce that An Bord Pleanála has granted planning permission for Kilshane Energy’s new gas turbine power generation station. The project, designed by CWPA, is set to deliver a significant boost to the region’s energy infrastructure, providing enough electricity to power approximately 300,000 homes.

The site will facilitate the construction of a state-of-the-art gas turbine power generation station with an output of up to 293 megawatts. The comprehensive development plan includes an administration building and warehouse, a packaged electronic/electrical control compartment, a continuous emission monitoring system, fuel oil tank, water tanks, road improvement works, car parking spaces, sheltered bicycle parking space, a new on-site sewer pumping station, provision of underground surface water attenuation areas, landscaping, tree planting, and boundary works to serve the development.

Joe Corr, Managing Director of Planning at CWPA said, “We are thrilled to secure planning permission from An Bord Pleanála for our clients Kilshane Energy. This project is a testament to our commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable energy solutions. The new gas station will play a critical role in meeting the energy needs of approximately 300,000 homes, reinforcing the region’s energy security and contributing to economic growth.”

The Kilshane Energy gas turbine power generation station is poised to become a key component in the region’s energy landscape, providing reliable and efficient power while adhering to the highest environmental standards. The project underscores CWPA’s expertise in designing and delivering large-scale energy infrastructure projects that meet both current and future energy demands.
