CWPA Planning & Architecture Secures Planning Permission for Major Residential Development in Baldoyle

Jul 8, 2024

Leading Planning and Architecture consultants, CWPA Ltd., has welcomed the decision by An Bord Pleanála (ABP) to permit a significant residential project comprising 104 apartments in Baldoyle.

This large-scale residential development (LRD), meticulously planned and designed by CWPA, features 104 apartments, each with private balconies, contained within an 11 storey block development, located at Grange Road, Baldoyle.  The development also includes car parking with EV charging points, accessible parking, bicycle parking spaces, childcare facilities, a café, and landscaped public realm areas.

“We are very happy to have secured planning permission from An Bord Pleanála, on behalf of our client, Rondesere Ltd.,” Joe Corr, Managing Director of Planning at CWPA said, “The LRD process replaced the Strategic Housing Development (SHD) process and it is working well.  With the correct housing policies in place to ensure these processes work, CWPA is proud to offer its expertise and be a part of the solution to deliver much needed housing during the current housing shortage”.

Mark Whelan CWPA Senior Planner said, “The recently introduced Sustainable Residential Development and Compact Settlements Guidelines for Planning Authorities provided support for the height and density of the proposed development as part of new national government policy. The redevelopment of this brownfield site is welcome and will contribute positively to the new and emerging character of this area.”

CWPA Senior Project Architect, Shyamalima Buragohain said “These thoughtfully designed apartment units along with exceptional amenities and supporting commercial development are intended to create a highly attractive architectural design.  The building design has been stepped up from the adjoining school site with a number of landscaped roof terraces providing exceptional views of the coast and Howth Head.  When completed, this residential area will create a real sense of place making a positive contribution to this strategically located landmark setting.”

Celebrating today’s decision, Corr and Whelan paid tribute to its planning and architectural team at CWPA, highlighting the effective teamwork between young and experienced talent.
