Mar 20, 2023

As a winner of the first Irish Aid  Enterprise Fund for International Climate Action, CWPA was delighted to give an online presentation to construction industry professional, research teams, students from universities and technical colleges all in Lesotho, South Africa.

CWPA used its expertise through Ciaran Corcoran and Shyamalima Buragohain to raise awareness of low-carbon building materials and encourage the adoption of zero-carbon building materials in Lesotho.

The presentation stressed the significance of sustainability and the construction industry’s role in reducing carbon emissions and addressing climate change. It also emphasized the environmental advantages of utilizing zero-carbon building materials and their contribution towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals.

Action Ireland Trust was established in 2011 by Niall Fitzgerald and CWPA Managing Director, Fran Whelan who together with the Board of Directors commenced a new development program in Lesotho in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Health, Ministry for Sport, Culture and Gender Equality and UNICEF.

We are incredibly proud of our association with Action Ireland Trust and delighted to share the expertise of our organisation to help those in developing countries help themselves.
